Welcome to Zithulele, a special village situated on the Wild Coast in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.
This part of the world has been populated for centuries, but the village itself - sitting at the intersection of Ginyintsimbi and Xwangu traditional locations, became a locus of activity after the 1920s, when Sea View trading store was established, and more so after 1956, when missionaries started the first clinic, hospital and church.
Today, Zithulele is a remarkable microcosm of what is possible in our country as people from all walks of life join together to bring hope and opportunity to a community which was historically neglected under apartheid South Africa, and still remains on the periphery of development in the democratic era.
We invite you to explore the different organisations who are working together in our village, by following the links on this site. Better yet, we invite you to come and visit, and meet the people who make up Zithulele.
