RadiographerS

Radiography plays a critical role in making accurate diagnoses. Our digital X-ray system is only as good as the people who operate it – fortunately, we get great images! Our radiography department is the strongest it's ever been this year and for the first time ever we have access to X-rays after hours!

Sonwabo Madakana 
Chief Radiographer
Sonwabo has been at Zithulele since 1996! Showing tremendous commitment to a remote area, he runs a busy radiography department. He’s also a stalwart member of the Zithulele Football Club.

Dominici Sauls 
Radiographer
Aka "the X-ray guy" Nic joined us in 2016 after doing community service at Burgersdorp. He graduated from NMMU. His passion as a radiographer is to ensure patients are treated with empathy and respect, building the all-important relationships between health care workers and patients. Outside work he enjoys outdoor activities and "loves eating."

Lulamile Mgandela 
Radiographer
Lulamile did community service here in 2016 after graduating from CPUT and has stayed on. He's meticulous about ensuring patient safety in the radiography department and keen to make sure people are helped appropriately. His favourite pastime after work is relaxing watching sport.

Amanda Dekeda
Radiographer
Amanda graduated from NMMU and has joined us for community service. She sees radiography as a way of giving to others and an opportunity to give hope as well. Volleyball is her pastime of choice.
