Introduction
Originally a mission hospital, and retaining some of this ethos, Zithulele Hospital, also known as Zithulele Mission Hospital, is situated in a deeply rural part of the beautiful Wild Coast of the Eastern Cape. We are a 147 bed district hospital providing primary health care services for a catchment area of 130 000 people.
We have a vision to become a centre of excellence in rural health and to this end are continuously striving to improve the service we offer to our surrounding communities, who rely on us.
Vision
Our vision is to become a model of excellence in rural health care by developing good management practices to ensure an efficiently run hospital with a well motivated staff that puts patients first, providing high quality district hospital services to the community and support to our local clinics.
Mission statement
We commit ourselves to strive for excellence in providing an integrated, comprehensive, community-orientated, patient-friendly, quality health service without any discrimination. We aim to provide a good working environment for all staff, and set an example by seeking long term continuous improvement in all aspects of our service.
